 | Glass Fusion Referred to as "warm glass," glass fusion is one of the oldest forms of glassmaking. Instead of blowing the glass, I use a kiln. The kiln is used to make the glass molten. Each Piece begins with handcut, broken, pulled and or ground pieces of glass and sometimes other materials. These pieces are then designed in a layered manner on the kiln shelf. Through a series of firings, (at temperatures ranging from1,200° - 1,750°,) a new piece of glass is formed and finally manipulated into its ultimate shape. |
